To begin with, I would like to say something which I personally feel about the conditions of general categories and others.
First,
Consider a situation in which I scored 188 in JEE Mains B.arch and still not got a call from good Architecture Colleges in India.While on the other hand, a candidate belonging to so called backward category , score 76 and got selected in NIT.
Now, frankly speaking, I would have appreciate the system and congratulate the candidate personally, If the reservation system for these backward classes would based on the economic conditions of these classes.
Sadly, On the contrary, it is based on the caste of the people.
That created problem for the country, disturbs the status of general category and sparks the hatred for reserved classes.
If the process would based on economic conditions, following were be there:-
- fair reservation
- no hatred among classes
- it may be a possibility that a person belongs to a general class and is economically weak, So, he, and many others like him would have fair place in many fields
- vise-versa , a lower caste candidate, who is economically healthy, cannot take undue advantage
So , I feel that the implementation of the system is good but the basis of the concept is wrong. Many are the deserving who don’t get a chance and many are non-deserving ones who are getting unfair advantage.
