People Matter

Working with schools for quality education has been a fun and enriching experience . The fun part is my journey from my residential flat to the school. When ever I take an auto and I am the only passenger, I never miss a chance to start conversations with the drivers. Some are beautiful human being with amazing life stories and some are ugly. There has been times when the driver asked me to go to a hotel with him when I told him that I live with girls and that I am unmarried . But those incidents couldn’t stop me from starting conversations with the other drivers. I am amazed to see how these people value education; they even refuse to take money from me when I tell them that I go to schools to make sure that kids are getting quality education and inclusive environment. They will make sure that they drop me to the exact location and I don’t have to walk few extra kilometres.
In one of the recent conversations, I met a driver who could attend school till 4th grade. He was so enthusiastic that he stated telling me about the lessons his teacher taught him some 20 years back. Everything was so crystal clear. He asked me,”Madam, so btao mujhe kyu surf chauthi class Tak padhne ka mauka Mila? Mere sare dost school hate the aur Mai kam par. Aj wolog acha kamate hai aur padhelikhe hai”
I had no answer.
One driver asked me if I could take out 10 minutes from my schedule and guide him where to put his son after 10th, which stream should he take and everything.
Everyone wants education, better life at least for their kids. Let’s make an effort to make it accessible to everyone for this is the only means by which better future of the nation can be ensured.
Live love laugh.
