Real life Bajrangi Bhaijan Abhishek Chauhan

Abhishek Chauhan
An Advocate in Allahabad High Court, Abhishek carries the flag of social responsibility with much ease in his surroundings. He is an Ex Joint Secretary at Allahabad High Court Bar Association, President Lok Unnati Samiti, State law officer in Government of U.P at Allahabad High Court. Well truly he is not one of those making excuses about being busy in personal and professional life but instead goes ahead and helps anyone who approaches him in need. He breaks all protocols of being inhuman and helps people in need. He has been labelled as real life ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’ by the social media and people around him who have been beneficiaries of his kind acts.
It all happened on a day when he came across a woman who was robbed on her train journey and was struggling for help and assistance. But as usual there was no one around to extend a helping hand to an unknown woman in the city of Allahabad. Abhishek not only filed a complaint but also made all necessary arrangements for her to reach her home in Kolkatta. From making calls to her family to doing travel arrangements, he did it all selflessly with no returns whatsoever. He made it a point to attend the call of humanity first and then his professional duty.
What started as an act of kindness became a passion henceforth. Till date Abhishek has helped hundreds of people in need. As a lawyer he waves of fees of people who cannot afford it and has also established an NGO “Lok Unnati Samiti” to serve mankind. True they say no act of kindness gets ever wasted. Abhishek and his works have been duly recognised and has been bestowed by Awards  like Marvellous Personality of India, Uttar Pradesh Police Award, Sanjogta Mahajan Memorial Award, Bal Choupla Change makers award, INext Personality, Humanity Achievers and Great Achievers Award.
The beauty of Abhishek’s work is that there are no boundaries. He helps anyone and everyone in need despite caste, colour, creed or regional. His manavta bank established in 2016 reaches people in any kind of distress. It could be physical, mental, emotional or financial help depending upon the need of the individual. From providing free education to the children belonging to the marginalized community, to distributing food packets or clothing and blankets in winter, he does his bit of being human. On one ‘mouni amavasya’ he fed around 3000 people at a go. His “pathshala” tries to promote children who are gifted with the art of singing and dancing to reality and television shows.
Abhishek launched a helpline number 9839238666 in 2015 on Rakhi day to help women in distress especially domestic violence or any other physical and substance abuse. It provides legal help and guidance to women who don’t want to take their personal life into court. So far more than 1000 calls have been attended and most of them have been provided help be it related in getting their court cases resolved or needing personal guidance or an ear to hear. From organizing ‘nukkad nataks’, to ‘samuhik vivah’ this man tries to help people around him in whichever way he can. His campaign “Shout Out Loud” which was a tribute to ‘Nirbhaya’ did create quite a buzz in the city. It’s punch line ‘break the silence, stop the violence’ and the vision to have violence free India for women received much accolades.
Abhishek now is planning an All India Progressive People Summit where he would be inviting the pillars of democracy and generating thoughts and ideas on how India should be by 2019. In May 2017, he is also organizing an event on women empowerment and to further generate awareness in the society for the cause of the women. So here’s wishing him good luck in all his endeavours and I hope by reading his story we all do our bits of humanity in whichever way we can
