Smiles of a Thousand Miles

Smiles of A Thousand Miles | A Movie | First Pilgrim Originals

John Muir, an American naturalist once said, “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity”

According to a WHO report, 8 Crore people are suffering from depression & anxiety disorders in India.

This is a small effort from our side to put a smile on people faces in this rather stressful world.

In the multiple trips to the mountains, we have only found good vibes. The people are friendly, always sport a smile and always willing to help. Apart from the high peaks, deepest chasms, the Flora, the Fauna and the solitude, it’s the people who inhabit these mountain regions which make the place so worthwhile to visit!

In April 2017, we decided to take a month off to travel to Uttarakhand for a couple of High-altitude treks. Post which we left for Himachal for a week and travelled to Nepal to the sanctuary of the revered Mount Everest. While on the treks, our life was very simple, We were walking most of the day, then Relaxing during the evening, and then repeating the process all over again. Meeting new people and having simple yet profound conversations brought great joy and smiles on our faces. The process was almost meditative!

If you are seeking peace, tranquility for your mind, body and soul from the mad rush of our sedentary urban lives. Hiking to the mountains will quench your thirst for mental peace.

Imagine the impact of a weeks time spent in solitude, in the raw wilderness of the Himalaya, to gaze at the high mountains and vastness of the valleys.

Through this movie, we want to portray the simplicity of life in the mountains, which has sort of become a motto for us in life too: ” Walk, Relax, Smile, Repeat “

There’s always a reason to SMILE, You just have to find it. We found it while walking a 1000 Miles.
