Soham Ghosh (The founder) was an obese kid who loved junk food until one day the weighing scale set the alarm off- 120kgs. That’s when he realised the importance of healthy living.
By following a healthy lifestyle and regular exercising, he lost 42 kgs. He went on to major in hospitality from The Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata & The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts.
Post which, he decided against a secure life in the hotels, resigned and set out to live his dream of creating a health destination in Kolkata.
He always pondered that why can’t junk food be made healthy?
Thus the oxymoron and core concept of No Junktion was born- Healthy Junk!
He hails from a family plagued with diabetes, heart ailments, hypertension, cholesterol and obesity. Thus, he extended the criterion of menu by allowing it to be alterable for these health conditions.
No Junktion started off as an online health food delivery service in April 2016. In July 2016, expanded to a takeaway and in August 2017 will further expand to a full fledged bistro.
No Junktion is a completely bootstrapped venture with no external funding.
It boasts of a global menu consisting majorly of items that are internationally acclaimed as comfort food, they are made healthy and altered according to specific health conditions. The menu is ratified by their Consultant Clinical Nutritionist.
In order to maintain parity to create Kolkata’s first health destination, it has extended collaborations to several individuals working in the field of fitness and health through various channels. From a psychological wellness partner, zumba partner, fitness partner, health magazine Partner, combat sports partner, yoga partner to a pranic healing partner, this brand is Kolkata’s first concept health food brand.
