All about seeing things as we are

Well, the caption sums up to the term “perception” which is defined by the dictionary of google as “the way in which something is regarded, understood, or interpreted”. This definition might have given you the idea that the understanding or interpretation of something is different for each of the individuals. If you still are in a state of confusion, try and think about the following questions.

Have you ever thought that

Why are you attracted towards something which might be totally uninteresting for others?
Why do you get annoyed at things which are perfectly fine for others?
Why do you find some of your decisions being respected by few while declared totally wrong by others?

All these have only one answer- Perceptions lead to these differences.

These perceptions can be determined by your beliefs, your flaws, your fear and even by your identity.
“Perception is nothing but a reflection of oneself”

⦁ Your beliefs governs the way you see things and perceive them. If you have developed a notion that servants are never trustworthy then you will always see them like that. It is not because all of them cannot be trusted, but because your reality of perception will be biased towards your beliefs. Beliefs are based on past experiences and thus the environment in which one grows play a very vital role in determining the way one sees the world.

⦁ Your flaws makes you think about it all the time leading to see things around you based on that, like, if you are skinny and you focus a lot on that, you will see people around you based on their skinny or obese feature and those who are very short (in height) will focus on heights of others.

⦁ Your fear will lead you focus on it more and thus your perceptions are build upon it. If you have been cheated and there is a fear within you of the same, you will focus on it while you deal with others.

⦁ Identity here refers to what you are and you see the world based on it. If you are a writer or a poet, you will see the world with a different view than others.

We all know that “good” is that which contributes to the greater whole, results in greater harmony, adds to the increase of life, creates more order, symmetry and balance whereas “evil” does the opposite thing, so, taking these two concepts into account, perceptions which are not affecting anything around should never be judged. It should be understood and accepted just as a different perception or “way of seeing the situation”.

My motto behind writing this article is to make people aware of the fact that one may differ in a situation from others, but that doesn’t mean one is wrong.
