“The policy of reservation however miniscule the percentage of Dalit population it applies to but nevertheless gives Dalits an opportunity to become doctors ,judges,policemen ,officers and civil servants.The National Commision for Scheduled Tribes for example reports that in Central Public Services only 8.4 percent of the A grade officer belongs to Scheduled Caste when the figure should be 15 percent .
Among Delhi High Court Judges not one belonged to the Scheduled Caste and in all other judicial post the figure was 1.2 percent.
In Tamil Nadu which is legacy of social justice movement 4 out of 38 high court judges were Dalit. In Jawaharlal Nehru University which is regarded as a bastion for social scientists and historians only 3.29 percent of the faculty is Dalit and 1.44 percent are adivasis while the quotas are meant to be 15 percent and 7.5 percent respectively.
There is 1 government department in which Dalits are over represented by a factor of 6.Almost 90 percent of them designated as sweepers are employed by the government of India as Dalits.”

So will the dream of equality remain a dreamIn India.
So what surprises me is that universities like Jawaharlal Nehru University which protests for equality for Dalits and people of other lower castes do not employ Dalits Themselves.
Then i fail to understand what is the point of reservation?We are witnessing enough corruption in the name of reservation.
The Dalits have been not been treated equally not only by this government but by other governments as well.
So the big question now is should we scrap the system of reservation and instead distribute resources in a way that it is divided equally and everyone gets equal opportunities.
