In a viral video on Facebook, a woman student of Delhi University Anuradha Kumari Jha has appealed to all women across the country to send Sanitary Napkins to Finance Minister Arun Jaitely. This call is to remind the FM that pads are a necessity, and not a luxury good, and force the Central Government to roll back the Luxury Tax levied on Sanitary Pads across the new GST regime.
The call has recieved nation wide support, with girls sending the Pads to Arun Jaitley’s office. Pictures of girls and women from Delhi, Rajastan, West Bengal, Telangana, Assam, Kerela, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have been circulating on facebook for the past couple of days.
