Hope – The girl child

Pristine – her laugh, her gaze, her call,
a blissful acknowledgment, the road to heaven
Her smile – a basket full of promises,
the warmth of morning sun, the glow white lilies
Her caress – a pious prayer unuttered,
melts away sorrows, doubts, worries and fetters
Her breath – a mellow whisper of love,
over me, a blessing to an inconsequential life
Me, an existence stung by her faith
In her naivety, in her adorable gurgles and bright eyes
bloom to life, certain parts of me untouched
Will it last or will it cease eventually
her presence, like the atypical unanticipated rains
leaving behind nothing more than
a wet scented memory, heavy with nostalgia
and an earth soaked with her essence
yet devoid of her presence
In drops will she be spent? One tiny loss at a time…
