Hallyu Wave, also known as The Korean Wave hit India way back in 2012 when South Korean rapper Psy’s “Gangnam Style” achieved widespread international recognition and became the most watched music video on YouTube. With almost 70 countries participating in K-POP World Festival, India took part in it in 2012. Since the year 2012, Korean Cultural Centre India has been organizing the ‘K-POP Contest India’ every year.

This year, many K-Pop fans participated in vocal and dance category in 11 regional rounds (used to be 7 regional rounds before),which held in the mentioned locations : Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Patna, Mumbai, Chennai, Odisha, Hyderabad, Mizoram, Nagaland and Assam. Each regional round took place from June to July, which has led up to the Grand Finale.

The extravagant K-POP Contest India, 2017 Grand Finale will be held in Delhi on 29th July 2017 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium. And the special guest judges are none other than South Korea’s upcoming boyband LUCENTE.

LUCENTE is an upcoming boyband under Noga Entertainment, consisting of seven members: U.Seong, Hero, Bao, XI.N, Kogun , Z.Hoo and Jong Chan. Their group name meaning is to shine brightly and they captured many hearts of Indian Lu.B (Lucente fandom name which means Lucente Beautiful), when they traveled around some of the regional rounds in India. The 6th edition of this contest will mark their debut in India. Such an amazing news, right?
