In case you needed another reminder that India is unsafe for women, witness: A series of tweets by a twitter user today morning shows just how unsafe it is. And it’s pretty fucking scary.
If your response to this is to ask, ‘but what was she wearing’ or ‘was she drinking’, then how about no. Not only is that victim blaming, this is a reminder that these were a group of men who are actively staking out places which are known to be frequented by women in order to literally kidnap them. And while it was amazing that this person was here to help out, women’s safety isn’t something we should be leaving to luck.
