Woman Talks: Gender Equity is important to gain Gender Equality

We already know the prejudices women have to face on a daily basis, such as gender inequality, sexism, and being stereotyped. Then too, we tend to overlook the prejudices that women play against each other. Why do most women hate to see other women succeeding? Why don’t they wish the best for one another?
We live in a day and age where most of the people spend their time gossiping and badmouthing each other instead of having genuine conversations. We have all been there and done that. We judge a woman by the type of clothes she is wearing. We look at her hair and makeup and already make assumptions about her! Saying things like: ” She’s not even that pretty” or “Under all that make up is a…” or “People only like her because…”
Ladies, it’s time to stop bringing each other down and stand in equality. We shouldn’t insult each other and even let people talk about other people behind their backs. Why should it make us feel better to bring someone else down? Why do we compare ourselves? Why do we care who got more Instagram likes on a photo? Why are we secretly overjoyed when we see others like us, facing difficulties !
Now don’t get me wrong…. competition is healthy, but if it means constantly insulting and bringing others down, then it by all means is very unhealthy. If someone’s failure is your win, then perhaps you need to re-evaluate what truly makes you happy. Why shouldn’t one woman’s success be another woman’s inspiration?
Think for a minute, stop the pettiness, the jealousy, the hate, the insecurities, the envy. It only makes you bitter and hardens your heart.
We are not each other’s enemies, so don’t feel threatened by one another. We’re all on this Earth together and we need be supportive of each other.
We all suffer, so we need to stay strong andd stick together. If we don’t have each other’s backs, who will?
Now no one is saying that you should go around searching for people to compliment, just keep your negative comments to yourself and stop hating. I urge you start focusidng on yourselves, and thinking how you can better yourselves. Make yourself a priority and be more supportive of others and I promise you’ll feel better about yourself. You’re your own competition.
