अनारक्षित-Unreserved

‘Unreserved’, this is what that compartment was named. The passenger sitting capacity for that compartment was 90. But when I saw the compartment, more than 150 people were in the compartment and it presented the same view which one gets at a local sweet shop,,flies and bees sitting over sweets. What is shameful for me as a young educated person is that most of the people travelling in that unreserved compartment were from the reserved category. They come to our metro cities give their blood & sweat making this city function properly but themselves live in subhuman conditions.

That unreserved compartment made me realise that this is what will happen if the Indian state will withdraw its protectionist welfare policies like reservation or subsidies for the marginalised and the market  will start determining who will get comfort or what is right or wrong for the poor?

I am still in a lost world thinking, why those persons who were travelling in that unreserved compartment in such indignity, are made to realize, that they are second class citizen of this country….
