Born to Dance

Be it Acro, Salsa or Jazz, Dance forms usually doesn’t follow a particular norm to being with. Dancing is an art, it’s a way of life, and some even say that it’s a lifestyle.

Inspiration, hard work and grace, these are the key elements any dancer should hardwire into their lives to succeed as a dancer. Be it tradititonal Bharatnatyam or western Ballet, dance a form of honor and a medium to express yourself, without even saying a single word. Dance competitions on the other hand are a mode of recognition, validation and a way to share your art with others.

The Born 2 Dance is the creation of the Dance India Dance duo, the famed Saurabh and Vivek , and their goal is to being out the potential dancing star in you. Event management enterprise, Purple Cow has been hosting this mega event, and the first two seasons of Born 2 Dance “Born 2 Dance Season 1 and 2” were a major success with over 15000 people participating from all over the eastern region of India, and in 2017 they are back with the third season of the dancing epic “Born2Dance – One Chance One Dance SEASON 3” and this time around its even bigger and better than before. This time around we have a special celebrity judge on the judging panel, Geeta Kapur.

And this year for season three, Kolkata is a host to the Grand finale on 9th of September 2017, at the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, EZCC Auditorium in Saltlake, Kolkata.

Auditions for the grand finale will be held in two separate locations, one on the 19th of August in Howrah, and the other on the 20th of August in Kolkata. After that the finals are to be held on the 27th of August 2017, after that the finalists will receive dance workshops on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of September, and shall be groomed on the 9th of September for the Grand Finale on the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center at Salt Lake.

The competition has various categories for the participants to showcase their talent and style in dance, the categories include:

  • Solo A – Below 14 years
  • Solo B – Above 14 years
  • Doubles – Two people
  • Group – Dance group performance
  • Mom and Dad special


Participants are to register their names, along with a small fee of Rs 300 to participate. There is also a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh for the winner.

Today in the industry Saurabh and Vivek are two energetic visionaries set to conquer the very limits of this beautiful art form, and Born 2 Dance is their way of giving everyone a chance to make the lime light their own. They have also choreographed various reality and television shows, along with that they have a dance institute “Born2Dance Performing Arts”, alongside that they also have their own event management company which goes by the name “Purple Cow” and they have been conducting classes, workshops and dance shows in Kolkata.
