What is language? Or “Bhaasha” kya hai?  Inn do lines ke beech ka difference ye hai ki ek English me hai aur dusra Hindi me. Aur main ye article na English me likh rahi hun na hi Hindi me. Main ye article Hinglish me likh rahi hun. Language ki definition kya hoti. Agar English me pucha jaye to “the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way.” Aur agar hindi me pucha jaye to “भाषा वह माध्यम है जिसके द्वारा लोग अपने भावों, विचारों को दूसरों तक पहुँचाते हैं और दूसरों की बात समझते हैं.” But aaj ki is duniya me kya hum language me ek dusre se baat kar sakte hain. Aaj ki iss cutting edge world me kya hum apne thoughts, problems, wishes etc. ko apni “ mother tongue” ya “matr bhaasha” bol ke express kar sakte hain. Even hum apni “National language” ya “Rashtriya bhaasha” me bhi express nahi karte. Har field me sirf English language ka bol bala hai. Because English becomes a Universal language.

English language ka ana ek status symbol ban gaya hai. Agar aapko English aati hai to aap well educated human being ho aur agar aapko English nahi aati then civil society me aapki position kaafi lower hoti hai. But hum ye bhool jaate hain ki hum me se kitne hi aise log hain jinko English to kya apni National language bhi nahi aati.

Agar main baat karu India ki to aaj ki society me English language ko itni value di jaati hai ki ab to ye pata karna bhi mushkil ho gaya hai ki hamari first language Hindi hai ya English. India me hi dekha jaaye to total 22 major languages hain jisme se Hindi hamari National language hain. Fir bhi aaj kal hum English ko zyada weightage detein hain. Hamare schools, colleges official works, corporate sectors etc har place me English language pe zyada zor diya jaata hain.

Maine kai baar dekha hai genius se genius insaan sirf isliye peeche reh jaata hai kyuki usko English nahi aati. Aaj kal job ki requirements me bhi likha rehta hai ki English communication is must. Bachpan se hi English medium me dalne k liye schools me parents ki hodd lag jaati hai. Bina English communication ke jobs nahi milti aur to aur marriage me bhi problems aati hai. Govt. exams me bhi English ke paper hote hain. To kya English ana itna important ho gaya hai.

Mere colony me ek ladka rehta tha jisne sirf isiliye suicide commit kiya kyuki wo English me kamzor tha aur uske college friends uska iss reason se uska Mazak banate the. Mujhe aise bahut saare log milte hai jo mujhse puchte hai ki kya aap hume English seekhaoge, kya English ana itna zarori hai kya but mere paas unko dene ke liye koi answer nahi hota because I know ki aaj ke iss hi-tech world me English ki kya place hai.

Kisi bhi cheez ka knowledge hona acchi baat hai chahe wo language hi kyu na ho but uski wajah se kisi ki jaan chali jaye ya kisi ko sharmindigi mehsus ho ye to fir acchi baat  nahi ho sakti. Language ya bhaasha hame ek dusre se communicate ya baat karne ka zariya deti hai. Agar wo hi barrier ka kaam karne lage to society me difference ya gap jayega. Aaj kal ki youth ke liye English ana ek “status symbol” hai. Jise ye nahi aata to wo illiterate hai. Baat agar sirf language tak ki hoti to baat alag hoti but English ko ab westernization ka source mana jaane laga hai jo kisi bhi country ke liye harmful hai.

Hum India me Hindi Diwas to manate hai but main ye guarantee ke sath keh sakti hun ki ye sirf calender me ek date ban ke reh gaya hai. Hum me se aadhe se zyada logo ko hindi Diwas kya hota hai ye pata bhi nahi hota hai. Bade bade log iss ek din ka khub Hindi me bol ke promotion karte hai but dusre din fir English me aa jaate hain.

Koi bhi language buri nahi hoti English bhi nahi. But kisi bhi cheez ko itna bada issue bhi nahi bana lena chahiye ki  dusre saare important issues chote dikhne lage. Aaj ki society me language ke alawa bhi bahut saare social and economic issues hai. English ko itna bada bana diya gaya ki pura market hi ready ho gaya hai. Coaching centers, schools, colleges private tutors etc. sab English ke maha gyata ho gaye hain. Sab paisa kamane ka source ho gaya hai.

Bacchpan me Hindi ki hi book me ek chapter tha “Vivekanand ki Videshyatra”. Usme lesson me hume ye baat batayi gai thi ki kaise Swami ji ne sabko salutation me ladies and gentlemen na keh kar “bhaiyo aur behano” kaha tha. Hamare ex-Prime Minister Shri Atal Bhihari Vajpayee ji ne bhi UN me Hindi me apna speech diya tha. Aaj bhi humko aise hi leaders and logo ki zarurat hai jo apni language ka maan rakhe use chota na samjhe.

Language aur use express karne ki ability hi hume jaanwaron se alag banati hai. But agar use hi hum chota ya kisi ko chota feel karate hai to hum me aur jaanwaron me difference kya reh jayega. Kisi country me reh ke usi ki national language me bolne pe hume embarrassment feel ho to uss country ka future problematic condition me hai.

So proud of whatever language country you live whatever language you know. Be proud of yourself…….
