Annadaanam is an initiative to provide healthy food to socio-economic deprived communuity

“Life is precious why not use for uplifting the socioeconomic deprived society and be alive forever in their heart” said Vishal Singh Co-founder of “Kaivalya Vichar Seva Samiti (KVSS)”, a non profit organisation working with aim of “Make village prosperous by strengthen the youth of rural and tribal communities”. As Vishal said that, if will target lowest and weakest sections of society to serve with the ideas and approaches of highest and strongest communities, then only we can eliminate the issues like unemployment, illiteracy, malnutrition and improper skill among the youths. With the first phase target as to empower the socioeconomic deprived communities by three dimensional activities, first is Sikshadaanam (Education); Swathyadaanam (Health checkup), Vastradaanam (Cloth donation) and Annadaanam (Food donation) has been complimented for integrated development of socioeconomic deprived children and youths.

Till end of 2016, 2000 socioeconomic deprived children received education, food and good health and in present, 78 students are studying in 3 evening classes and receiving routine health check up, clothes, school bags and food. KVSS has to achieve 100 % mal nutrition and illiteracy free Soladahar and Gopali villages of Paschim Medinipur district, WB and Rasur and Nekedagunja village of Gajapati and Mayurbhanj district, Odisha respectively, Vishal said.

After completion of graduation in Agricultural Engineering from OUAT, Bhubaneswar and post graduation from IIT Kharagpur, Vishal worked in different industry, institution and NGO to gain the practical experience to sustain among carious kind of mentality and finally left the job and initiated his mission to bring remarkable changes in the socioeconomic status of rural and tribal communities through concept of Socio-entrepreneurship. From one hand through KVSS, they have focus on basic problems of socioeconomic deprived children and started several evening classes, health check-up camps, food distribution camp, Clothes and blood donation camps with help of volunteers of different premier institution and from second hand, KVSS started to emphasise on Socio-entrepreneurship for create a sources of sustainable and progressive livelihood through skill them in Agricultural and allied sector. KVSS have given intensive focus on different practices of Integrated, traditional, Indigenous, Natural and Organic farming to promote Agriculture as main source of livelihood for tribal and rural communities. KVSS offering various training program on Agriculture like preparation of different Organic compost, pesticides and plant nutrients; Organic integrated farming; Bio-intensive farming; Natu-Eco farming; Mushroom cultivation; Green manuring; Organic seed production and treatment; Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal, Herbal and Aromatic plants and for marginal, semi marginal, small and land less farmers to make them self sufficient and economically sound. Up to July, 2017 nearly 8900 farmers has been trained and in present capable to earn their livelihood through themselves. KVSS has started his farming model of “One Lakh rupees from One Acre” in 2016 for strengthening the economy of farming communities. In present, this model is implemented in Mayurbhanj and Bolangir district of Odisha. In Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, we have trained more than 800 farmers of Lodha and Santhal Tribes and they have cultivated Medicinal plants in more than 300 acre land. In Bolangir district, nearly 2200 farmers trained in Organic vegetable and spices cultivation. More than 200 farmers are trained in Chilka range of Odisha about earning livelihoods from mangroves, see weeds and aquatic species. In guidance of Vishal, KVSS expanding his service and training for the farmers in the sector of Rubber plantation, cultivation and extraction; plantation, cultivation and extraction of lemon grass oil; preparation of planting material and testing of plant germination rate; Multi-tier farming and hydroponics, Organic package and practices and preparation of Organic compost, organic pesticide and plant nutrients etc with long term goal of a prosperous, sufficient and progressive farming communities, which can earn a good status and sustainable livelihood.
