‘The Climate Change Negotiation’ was conducted by Festember Social Responsibility in association with Environmentalist Foundation of India(EFI). The event took place on 15th September, 2017 from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. This event was attended by about 50 students wherein they were split into 6 teams, each team consisting of about 6-7 students.
Conducted in the Model United Nations format, each team was allocated a country that they had to represent, which they were given on spot. The statistics demonstrating the environmental conditions of the regions were distributed to the respective team. Each team was given 30 minutes to come up with innovative ideas to improve the environmental conditions in their region. Each team sent 2 members onto the stage to speak about the same. As a part of their ideas for projects, they urged the other region delegates to help them by funding them or setting up projects in their region. During this, the floor was open for questions from other delegates. At the end of the session, the EFI representatives spoke about their organizations and various issues surrounding the climatic and environmental conditions. They also invited volunteers for their future projects.
