Why Can’t A Woman Be Lazy On Sundays?

Sundays are meant to be holidays for all the men and the kids around you. A day to take a break from one’s daily routine and drown in one’s bed, enjoying a deep sleep. Does that sound cool?

But what about your needful stock of things, that keep on coming to you from the supply station handled by women, whether they be one’s mother, wife or sister?

Women’s hearts are made of gold with a lot of capacity to love. But does that golden heart never melt into a wish for plunging into a cosy bed and dream for hours? Of course, it does. Even she feels lazy!

But does this make her a ‘bigdi hui ladki’? No, it doesn’t. But we restrict her happiness and confine her to her own routine.

Women have a lot of power to absorb the pain and stress that comes from having to see to someone’s comforts every single minute. Our society does not leave much space to let her breathe.

Women have to play different roles to help us move smoothly every day. Yet, we call them spoiled or stereotype them as being not-so-sanskari. Now it’s time to break the silence to empower her. After all, she is a human being with emotions and energies similar to all of us. If she is on rest, it doesn’t mean that she is lazy or careless towards her responsibilities. It means that she needs some rest to gear up again.

Let’s remove the taboo and help her enjoy her beauty sleep. Let her stay away from the tautness of her fixed schedule which involves cooking, cleaning, setting alarms, etc. Give her time to tend to herself. Let her sip her hot coffee in the bed. Give her a Sunday!
