How to prepare for SSC CGL Tier 2?

As we are done with the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam, it’s a high time to start preparing for the Tier 2. For SSC CGL Tier 2, one needs to keep in mind that speed plays an important role in getting a high score. Unlike, Tier 1, SSC CGL Tier 2 has the number of questions which are to be attempted in lesser time.

The result for the SSC CGL Tier 1 will be declared on 31st October 2017. The Tier 2 exam is scheduled in the first week of December.

 

Important things to keep in mind:

  1. Paper 1 & 2 i.e. of Quantitative Aptitude and English Language respectively are compulsory for all the candidates.
  2. Paper 3 is added for those who have applied for Statistical Investigator.
  3. Paper 4 is for those who have applied for the post of Assistant Audit Officer (AAO).
  4. SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam will be conducted online. All papers are of 2 hours duration.
  5. Negative marking: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for paper 2 & 4. While paper 1 & 3 has 0.50 marks as negative marks.

Just by knowing about the exam is not enough to clear the SSC CGL Tier 2, you should have a proper strategy for the whole SSC CGL syllabus.

 SSC CCL Tier 2 Preparation strategy:

As the SSC CGL Tier 2 is approaching there are some points you need to keep in mind. The preparation strategy you need to follow are:

The knowledge of syllabus and exam pattern gives you the direction for the proper study planning and helps you in preparing for only the topics which will be asked in the exam. Since the syllabus is quite vast, this is one of the necessity to know the syllabus.

A proper timetable should be followed for the effective preparation. This includes all the topics which are to be studied, the time allotted for every topic or subject. Allot more time for the weak topics.

The mock tests will give you an insight into your preparation. You can give mocks daily or on alternate days. Try to give mocks online so that you became adaptive of the same environment. Solve previous year paper also.

The test which you give must be analyzed thoroughly. This will give you the necessary feedback about your weak and strong topics. Write feedback on your own in a notebook and try not to repeat the same mistakes in the upcoming tests.

There are many easy questions in the paper which you need to attempt first. In next round go for those which take more time as compared to the easy ones. Also, in last 10-15 minutes check all the questions which you have attempted.

A handbook should contain all the important formulas and words which you can revise at the time of the exam.Hope these tips and strategies will help you in your better preparation for SSC CGL Tier 2.
