The #MeToo trend makes me recall all the times my friends & I have gone through harassment, be it stalking, following, those horrid ogling, the dirty smiles and the one thing that strikes me the most is how everyone around me said ‘hota hai’. It’s given that these things happen to girls, like us getting down, this too happens. Ladkiyon ke saath toh hota hi hai, yeh mat pehne kar, mere saath bhi hua tha, kuch nahi hota. All these phrases are whats wrong with the world. While we say me too, can we also promise ourselves that next time when this happens around us, we will do more, a lot more to save our friends and make that guy pay for even that glance that made her wish she wasn’t a girl.
