What is our role in the society we live? It is a very interesting question, and I have a very interesting perspective for it as well.
The role of every man living in any society is to make the society efficient by means he has in his reach.
Different people have different means and power, but I will give you two examples which will cover almost every person.
- Everyone who drives can contribute to make the flow of traffic smoother. And it can be done so simply. When each and every person follows traffic rules, maintain a proper distance and moves in proper lanes, not blaring horns, just imagine how much more peaceful it would be. Anyone who has every travelled in a foreign country can easily relate to what I am saying. A little contribution from everyone will make a huge impact.
It is just a little act of systematic behaviour, which on a macro scale could bring tremendous changes to our well being.
- Everyone capable of moving can contribute to the proper maintenance of your surroundings. The initiative of digital governance has given the power to directly raise your voice at a national level. If the roads in your area are broken, or there isn’t proper facility of water, or there are too many mosquitoes. Whatever the problem which comes under the jurisdiction of the maintainers of the society, could be notified by sitting at your favourite spot and sending a tweet. It can’t get any simpler than this!
Just by writing a short message, you can help make the lives of hundred others around you better. Sadly, not everyone is accustomed to using technology, so it becomes the responsibility of those who know to teach those who don’t, or else just convey their message.
These are just 2 examples, but if you observe, you will find such things everywhere. In the office you work, in the society you live. Just think once about how your action might affect other people around you. And do only those which leaves a positive impact.
