Have you ever tried gazing at the sky for hours together when it is just about to rain? If no try it. I bet it is one of the most beautiful sites one can come across.
Monsoon!! One such word which has the very ability to change moods. The way it lashes the mother earth, the way it cleans up each and everything in its way, the greenery all around, the calmness in the chaos and what not. There are so many things one can relate to. Be it the Petrichor, the cooing of the cuckoos, ribbet of the frogs, gushing sound of the stream of water flowing by, thundering of the clouds-everything seems to be in well sync with the tunes of nature. It seems as if all the sounds have been perfectly blended with each other- just like in an ‘orchestra’.
For a Pluviophile and a nature lover like me, it is the time when everything turns out to be perfect. It’s that time of the year when every day, you feel like making yourself a cup of hot coffee and desi ‘bhajji’ of every possible form-be it ‘aloo’, ‘tamatar’, ‘kanda’ or yam (yes you are talking to big time foodie) along with your favourite lovey-dovey novel. Sitting back relaxed on an arm chair in the balcony of your apartment on one of the top floors of the building and listening to the very sound of “Rain”-sounds just so perfect. It has the healing powers which can wash away your worries and cleanse your soul from within. The impression which it leaves on you can be very well compared to eternal bliss!!
Nothing can be better than going for treks in this weather and getting drenched in the monsoon showers, taking in the fresh cool breeze and getting dirty in the mud, not caring about how much work you are supposed to get back to, but just living in the moment. These are the very experiences which directly impact the medial temporal lobe (I know too much of technical terms.)
Apart from this beauty of rains, there is lot in store if which we can correlate to our daily life. Apparently raindrops are the bravest things created by god! Wondering why? Here’s the answer. Simply because they are never afraid of falling!! If we start applying this small, yet a deep concept to our day to day lives, no one can ever dare to stop you from being at the pinnacle. After all life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. But it’s about learning to dance in the rains.
Keeping it short, I personally believe in a well-known saying, “Some people feel the rain, others just get wet and crib about it”. The onus is completely on us as to how we learn ‘celebrating’ every bit of it. After all it’s always better to see the half glass full rather than half glass empty. And believe me or not, anyone who says sunshine brings happiness, has never tried dancing in the rains.
“I love the rain. I love how it softens the outlines of things. The world becomes softly blurred and I feel like I melt right into it right away – you are young only once, but you can be immature for lifetime.”
