Today I visited Khdakpada police station in Kalyan for my passport verification. I was wearing shorts so they started shouting at me for that. I asked them if there is any rule of dress code in the police station. They did not show me any rules but said, “This is India, not America.”
We live in a free country and we have the right to choose our clothes unless it’s the written rule.
When I argued with them for this, they threatened me and said that they would file a case on me.They also manhandled me and forcibly pushed me out of the police station. The police is supposed to protect our freedom not to destroy it.
