The season is certainly not very favorable for your skin. Lack of moisture and low humidity levels makes our skin dry, itchy, and dull. If left uncared, the skin begins to crack and bleed.

The good part is, a little time and effort can work wonders for your skin.

Listed below are some of the best ways that can help you get that perfect skin during winters:

  1. Bathe in lukewarm water

Nothing more soothing than hot showers in winters, right? But hold on, these hot showers can harm your skin. They strip away all the oil from your skin, making it dry and dull. Thus, it is recommended to bathe in lukewarm, water especially during winters. It also helps in avoiding acne breakouts.

  1. Moisturize your skin well

Winter is the time your skin needs more moisture. Using a good moisturizer can help you do away with all the dryness. Shilpa Aggarwal of Aastha Group recommends applying moisturizer right after the shower.

  1. Choose the right moisturizer

Using a moisturizer isn’t enough. It is important to ensure that you go for the right one. So, don’t just pick a sunscreen, choose one according to your skin type. You can even go for natural products like papaya, honey, buttermilk, and homemade masks like milk and almond face pack, olive oil and egg yolk face pack, lemon and honey solution to nourish your skin during winters. It is recommended to leave the masks on your skin for 20-30 minutes for lasting effect.

  1. Hydrate

As a matter of fact, people tend to drink less water during winters and prefer hot beverages like tea and coffee over it. However, this is the time your skin needs to be well-hydrated. Shilpa Aggarwal of Aastha Group states that drinking lukewarm water with lemon can prove to be quite refreshing and hydrating at the same time.

  1. Protect your skin

It is equally important to protect your skin from the sun in winters. Go for the right sunscreen or wear gloves and scarf to protect your skin from the damage.

  1. Listerine and vinegar solution for cracked heels
