Anyone living in Delhi right now can attest to the fact the air has become nigh unbreathable, with PM 2.5 and PM 10 levels hitting 999 micrograms per cubic metres – way above the safe limit of 100 micrograms.

But what is not being discussed as widely, is the effect this has on Delhi’s children – many of whom are still forced to attend school amidst this toxic pollution, while not being able to go out and play in the open.

A group of parents demonstrated in front of the Directorate of Education to demand that the schools remain closed until the PM levels come down to a manageable amount. Here’s what they had to say.
