Writing is the one thing in life that will help you constantly evolve. You might write some essays for classes, you might write some presentations for your job or you might just write some doodles in your favorite notebook. Either way, writing will keep your brain busy, it will help you become better and better every day.

Here are the main reasons why writing is important in life:

Improves Communication

Writing is the best way to improve your communication skills. There are lots of people who end up in managing positions, but they are unable to deliver their messages efficiently. These are the kind of people that need lots of help writing their mails and presentations. Getting in this situation is quite hilarious and your professional and personal life will suffer.

That’s why, from an early age, is important to write regularly. Make summaries of your favorite movies, write love letters, lay your experiences on a piece of paper. That summer holiday in Spain that made you fall in love with that country needs to be remembered.

Writing also helps you become smarter, wittier. Laying down a problem, on a piece of paper, makes you think about it and digest it differently. You will be able to see the problem from a different point of view. By doing this, and by solving harder and harder issues you will improve and you will create a place for unparalleled interpretation and ingenuity.

Improves Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is all about analyzing, conceptualizing, evaluating, and giving a solution for a problem. You gather your information from different sources, you lay it all down, on a piece of paper, and you get going.

First, you analyze it all, then you start evaluating the information. Is it from a credible source? Is it useful for my problem? Once you do that, you create a concept for your solution, you connect the dots.

Last, but not least, once you have it all figured out, you evaluate the solution you came up with and improve it, if necessary.

This being said, it’s quite obvious why is vital that you always have a pen in your hand. Writing improves your vocabulary, thus you also improve your oral communication skills. Self-improvement is another good reason why you should write doodles or essays constantly. You will be able to see the problem from a different point of view and you will find easier solutions to the problem.

Last, but not least, it improves your critical thinking, you will be able to better conceptualize solutions for the problems you encounter.
