Returned after one month, thought , why not to comment on PADMAN of India ?
I recall back in 1990, conducted a survey for CIDA/SCF-USA/ITDG in 21 Garment factories around Mohammadpur areas to find out how the women workers handle their monthly periods and to aware them with modern panties /pad etc. It was a challenging assignment for my team. Finally to produce a awareness brochure and flip charts for the women workers. That was starting point in bangladesh to handle personal hygiene including periods. Further Enfants du Monde started monthly meetings with the village women on personal hygiene through Social Services Department of GOB in from 1981.
Presently believe, not a single woman uses unhygienic items for their health issues.
India a country with a history since 530 AD, not conscious yet about their personal hygiene. Why A PADMAN needs to teach them, its hopeless idea? A number of NGOs working there, are they still of TABOO? Horrible? Culturally, they are still lagged behind us, is not it? Hopeless country, Allah bless them and bring out to light of awared world. Actually they are very much selfish type, never wanted to teach the common people about the good.
