‘Prakruti’ is an annual 3-day festival launched to provide a platform for exchange and interaction between silent or unheard Nature-lovers, Students and Veterans in the field of Nature and Environment Protection. Hosted at Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre, this forum endeavours to display best of the environmentally beneficial lifestyles, technologies and science projects for betterment of humanity and our delicate planet. This Mumbai’s Unique No.1 Nature Festival, initiated by Mr. Himanshu Prem Joshi with the encouragement of Shri Lalit Shah in the Bhavan’s campus, Andheri, has attracted about 1,15,000 people in 8 years.

Organized by Wild Holidays, every year Prakruti organises & displays a wide variety of shows, workshops, demonstrations, adventure, art, culture, travel, literature, dances, plays, etc that relate with Nature and Environment. Prakruti is an innovative platform, where all work religiously towards promoting the dying importance of nature and its marvels, where each strength, each energy is channeled and manifested into all things worthwhile bringing about a powerful workforce and a galvanizing festival in turn. Volunteers from different Colleges like Bhavan’s, Balbharati, Mithibai, KES, DTSS, SNDT, etc came together and engaged themselves and exposed visitors to Plant Care, Kitchen composting, Animal Care sessions, Nature Trail, Fun Science, Flower Show, Tribal Trail, Butterfly spot, Fish Care, Medicinal Plants, Nature Photography, Dog Show, Origami, Paper-Quilling, Stone Painting and thrills such as Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Commando Nets, Spider Nets, Zip-line.. and so on. The idea is to give a refreshing connect with Nature to the oxygen-starved citizens of concrete city and unfold the Real World filled with Touch, Smell, Sound and Taste into the youngsters who are glued to Screens of mobile, computer or television most of the time.

This Festival does not stop at this. It offers year round Eco-Environment & Nature Adventure programmes at Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre. Families can involve themselves on many Sundays between 2 to 6 pm at the Centre. Children will soon be able to enroll in an upcoming Sunday Club. Schools and groups can have their 1-day field-trips throughout the year on week-days, while overnight CAMPS are also available to School & College groups, Social organizations apart from Team building, Leadership & outbound programmes for Corporate groups, Employee Engagement plans and Management students. Animal Rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of injured wild animals and birds is another continuous work undertaken by volunteers at the Centre. Youth brigade is growing by the day, connecting with creative, positive nation-building activity at Bhavans Nature & Adventure Centre. BNAC aims to sensitize all age groups to the beauty of nature, its resilience but also its fragility. Because they represent the future and, if provided with the right tools, they have the potential to lead a green revolution in our societies, children and young people are very specific target groups.

Wild Holidays, the organizers of Prakruti Festival, have 33 years experience in Camping, Trekking & Jeep safaris. Wild Holidays offer destinations off the usual tourist routes, to allow tourists & trekkers to enjoy the preserved beauty of nature.
Youngsters are invited to Volunteer. They are trained Free of Cost and compensated for their time & skills once they have learnt activities in the field of their interest.
