For The First Time, 4 Supreme Court Judges Address Failing Judiciary In Press Conference

For the first time in history, four senior judges of the Supreme Court have conducted a press conference. When they failed to convince Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, they choose to take the issue to the court of people.

The four judges of the Supreme Court held a press conference on the issue of administration, appointment and corruption in Judiciary.

Justice Chelameswar in a Joint Press Conference said, that “The administration of the Supreme Court is not in order. As senior members of the judiciary, it is our duty to tell CJI to take measures, but our efforts failed. The hallmark of the institution is independent and impartial judiciary.”

“Our democracy will not survive unless the institution of the judiciary is preserved… we don’t want people to say that we sold our souls,” he added.

After trying to convince the CJI today morning too, the four senior judges were left with no choice but to take this to the court of people.

It is the discharge of the debt to the nation, which has brought us here,” said Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

Here is the letter by Justice Chelameswar, Gogoi, Lokur and Kurian Joseph.
