Your Guide to Purba Medinipur

Purba Medinipur is a district in West Bengal and a highly underestimated one at that. It has the state of Odisha at the southwest border, the Bay of Bengal in the south, the Hoogly river to the east and the Howrah district to the north-west.

This place is only two and a half hours from Kolkata. If you are in the vicinity and do not know what to do, here is a guide to Purba Medinipur:

How to get there?

The best way to get there is to first take a flight to Kolkata. The duration will depend on where are you flying from. Once you have reached Kolkata, then from there, you can choose multiple ways to get to Purba Medinipur. You can either choose to travel by bus or hire a car. The journey will be covered in four hours.

Where to stay?

If you are looking for a place to stay you want a place that is clean and decent. Sonar Bangla is one such option, it is located in Kalindi in the Chulkhala District in Purba Medinipur. What to do?

There are multiple things you can do in Purba Medinipur some of them are:

Digha Beach – Located in a beach town, this beach is on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. It is known as a popular tourist destination with its untouched beaches and scenic views. Here you can experience nature’s beauty at its finest.

Mandarmani Beach – If you are looking for a beach which is not as commercial as Digha, then Mandarmani is the best option. It is a lovely beach, slightly secluded and definitely less crowded than most beaches. They also have water sports activities here.

Amarabati Park – For a leisurely stroll, you can visit the Amarabati park. The entrance fee for the park is 5 rupees per head. The park is well-maintained with lots of trees and flower beds. There is also a lake where you can go paddle boating.
