Media is contemporary and always changing so it becomes very   important to study   every aspect of media. To study media is to analyse and understand the process, but to understand this process you need an institute where  a Media enthusiast comes to know  in and out of the media industry. Kishinchand  Chellaram College  has its own  stream of  mass media studies  from the root to the top. Right from Guest  lectures to  conference, right from regular classes to fest  everything here is organised and executed in a perfect way.  One more thing what excites about this college is the International Media Summit which is organised since 4 years. This year also with more enthusiasm and with more zeal and zest  KC is all set to organise its 5th International  Media  Summit. So lets see what does International Media Summit offers to the students this year.

The Department of Mass Media, Kishinchand Chellaram College is organizing its fifth Annual International Media Summit on February 16-17, 2018. The two-day interdisciplinary conference, which is being organized in association with Jonkoping University and Communication, Culture and Diversity, Sweden, is based on the theme Mediamorphosis: Identity and Participation.

The keynotes speakers for the conference are Dr. Ernesto Abalo, senior lecturer from Jonkoping University, Sweden and Dr Jayalakshmi Garrabost, Associate Professor from Xi’an Jiantong – Liverpool University, China. Dr Garrabost will be screening a short film based on homecoming.

 

The conference will truly be an enriching experience as it will provide students and participants a platform to interact and learn with the leaders from the education field and media industry. There are 27 paper presenters who will be presenting their researches and finding. A panel discussion on the topic ‘Redefining Media’ is one of the main highlights on the second day, which will have prominent personalities like senior Supreme Court lawyer Mr Jamshed Mistry, Bollywood actress Kajal Aggarwal, Head of Media & Publicity at the Goa International Film Ms Ethel Da Costa among others as panellists.

 

Additional speakers will include:

  1. Mr. Johan Bäcklund, who is a language teacher for both English and Swedish
  2. Dr. Sangeeta Bagga-Gupta, a professor at the School of Education and Communication, Jönköping University
  3. Dr. Ylva Lindberg who is an associate Professor, and holds a position as a Dean of Research at Jönköping University, School of education and communication
  4. Prof. Mia Verhoeff-Friman, who is a faulty at the School of Education and Communication, Jönköping University
  5. Ms. Loraine Gauteul, who studies international Communication in the master program at Jönköping University
  6. Dr. Anette Svensson, who is a senior lecturer in English Literature at The School of Education and Communication at Jönköping University
  7. Mr. Lars Almén, who is a doctoral student at Jönköping University
  8. Marie Fullsta International Relations Manager, School of Education and Communication, Jönköping University

About Kishinchand Chellaram College and Department of Mass Media:

KC College was established in 1954 under the aegis of the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, H(S) NC Board.
