An article published this incident on 13th january about the sexual assault by the comedian ,who won golden globe for “master of none”, on a less known babe website.
The revolution assisted by hashtag power is getting tarnished by allegation against ansari.
The #metoo awareness campaign that helped create momentum about subdued and succumbed cases of unsung assaults in mainstream media thus obscuring its gravity got hurdled due to this ill reporting.
There is a thin line between a misogynistic behavour and sexual abuse.A radical concept such as #metoo is a great way to educate about prevailing sexual atrocities in modern times.
Aziz ansaris case opens a new chapter that the “fairer sex” is not always the suffered community.
The narrative describes the intentions during the confusing initial phase of courtship. Although many can be experts in reading non-verbal cues, it may not be the case with everyone. This incident doesn’t even come under what was actually intended under #metoo movement.
A carefully penned article in a lesser known magzine citing “unnamed” person published a grazing sexual behaviour just conveniently after his majestic golden globe conquest . The wire stated it as “classic case of miscommunication”
Incident leaves us with questions like Is it ok to publicize private chats and moments that can be put in a blurred range of actions of two individual with their own agendas.
Azis ansari case is far different from #metoo victims.Here the girl willingly goes to the comedian’s residence, gets happily drunk , does a bit of foreplay and never sternly and clearly defines the boundries. He like any other guy is pushing his luck hoping for a good time.
The girl felt assaulted much later when she talked to her gals and saw aziz supporting #metoo movement on tv.
This incident forces us to see the broader perspective of these occurences. We need to understand the difference between a brutal attack and a bad date or mild sexual advances .
We also need to contemplate that men are also subjected to humiliation and the private behaviour of a person can not be made news in the open just because he was adamant on having sexual relation.
The movement needs true Feminist approach to its core where women are not weak nor needy but equal to men and hence anti-discrimation is not practiced against a human just because he has a penis.
A greater and a refined movement is the need of the hour where men are not just typecasted pigs
but an integral part of the revolution who are treated with same senstivity as women and are allowed to have a substancial presence if they are victims of misconduct.
When a sexual misconduct is treated just on basis of its occurence keeping aside the genatalia of the human , equality in its true sense will be achieved and this exactlty what ansari’s case has initiated.
