THE FORGOTTEN CLAN

THE FORGOTTEN CLAN

26th January  Republic day is celebrated all over India with huge celebrations remembering our martyrs and the Indian constitution.

A small sultry sleepy area in Mumbai called Charkop at kandivli west, celebrated this day in a different way. The clan of senior citizens that are rarely remembered by the present generation had their evening out at charkop.

Invites were sent all over Charkop to our forgotten group, wherein not less than 200 Seniors came with their toothless smiles with pride. The happiness shown on their countenance was one of might , showing that its their day today specially remembered by CHARKOP SECTOR 8 VIKAS SAMITI.                    [ Residential Federation]

The celebrations began with their introduction, where the Seniors who may have never had the opportunity to hold a mike to introduce themselves felt elated. The various games, fun, singing, jokes and personal experiences were freely expressed for all to enjoy.

What makes this celebration special was that, the Seniors voiced their feelings and also participated with complete energy. Their off springs are usually so engrossed in their fast lives that they consider the retired Seniors as their asset to run errands for their homes.

We all forget that every human body succumbs to old age and loneliness wherein we all lose our energetic body and resign to fate. That the moment  when CHARKOP SECTOR 08 VIKAS SAMITI steps in to ensure  they are given their share of happiness.

The seniors were treated with home made eatables, gifts, roses with a shawl and above all not forgetting our nature. Green Yatra NGO sponsored little saplings to each one of them.

The evening ended with loads of blessing showered on CHARKOP SECTOR 8 VIKAS SAMITI.
