In the small NE state of Tripura there is concern of high importance over rising number of cases of Sexually Transmitted Disease of all these STD’s which are curable in their initial stages. But as far as AIDS is concerned it is definetely not curable even at its earliest stage.
Many NGO’s are active in the state which tries to make an upliftment and resonable impact into the lives of the marganilised people the basic need is to create awareness (awareness of not just about these deadly diseases but about life in general). The most basic things are to abolish those social stigmas those taboos which are ritualised into everyones lives.
In Tripura there is a taboo of early child marriages and various theories stigmas worked towards its favour.
The educated mass too not comming forward to help them. If and when the deep rooted stigmas are not being corrected then this society will suffer and will lag only backwards.
Things i want to discuss and put through this platform are:
1. Significant moves to create awareness on STD’s.
2. It may be through street or mahaulla plays, theaterical demonstration etc
3. Stigmasand taboos of all kinds needs to tackle on.
I think we can all bring some change to this State and all parts of our Country
To eradicate the STD’s.
