Muslim Prisoners Hold Navaratri Fast In Barabanki Jail

Around 20 Muslim prisoners in the Barabanki district jail in Uttar Pradesh are strictly keeping a Navratri fast. They were dedicated to their pious efforts but what made them want to join the Hindu convicts and fast in the first place? Were they excited and hoping for good karma?

RK Jaiswal, the jail superintendent, said that about 376 prisoners in total were observing the fast. They have decided to continue their fast all through the stipulated days.

This incident obviously proves all those politicians wrong who did not believe in such a cohesion. They typically use religion for their political purposes.

Albeit practising different faiths, the prisoners were also carrying on the fast for their spiritual contentment. They were simply respecting and upholding this pious act.

The jail administration has been ably making a complete arrangement of fruits for the occasion. They are trying their level best to care for religious harmony in the jail precincts.

Politicians execute their politics in the name of religion, but the prisoners were presenting an instance of unity at this prison near Lucknow.

This was not an act of pretence on the part of jail authorities or the prisoners. Simply because it would then be one of the oddest ways to draw attention.
