How I Started An Initiative To Promote The Hobbies & Passions Of The Youth

“Pen voice” was founded by Avinash Dadu, Abhishek Pathak, O Milan and Somy P on July 1, 2016. Our motive was to promote the hobbies and passions of the youth in order to make them ready for the future.

The slogan of our team is. “To show the power of pen in melody voice.” My team was thinking about the reason behind making this group. We were not guided by any professionals or mentors. But still, we tried our luck and with the blessings of the almighty, we started our first project. We were thinking about gaining name, fame and money after the project but the journey was too long. We could see our destination but it was too far to access.

So, after recording a song we decided to work with the youthful students of Indian colleges, starting with Bangalore (RRIT College). We made the music video in the college to provide the students easy access to locations and have them be in their comfort zones.

Henceforth, every new song will have a new face, new talents, new dancers and singers as we will be choosing different colleges all over the country. This is to give the students the experience to handle such situations if they face them during their struggle period.

While making this song, our idea was to put it online and let people hear it. But this idea was not successful. Then my team came up with the brilliant idea to make a music video for this song. We needed a cameraman, actors, a video editor, a story. Then we got to see how beautiful a thing friendship is as we received a lot of support from our friends. They were ready to work with us. We got our cameraman and the actors. To manage the budget, we chose the botanical park for the shooting. We had an awesome time working with some people we didn’t know but they tried the best for our team and I’m thankful to them.

Now the question was what we would do next? Sadly, my friend received the news that their father had passed away due to cancer and they had to go back to Odisha. I went back to Bangalore. Everything was paused for some time. Then, I again got motivated to carry the project forward. It was part of my life’s journey. But then I entered engineering and I had less time for my hobby. Suddenly, I though of implementing the idea in my college. I discussed the matter with my mates in Bangalore.

Starting Our Second Project

This time around, I lacked the team support but I was not alone. I chose guys from my friend circle in the locality and shared ideas with them. But most of them weren’t too sure about it and I was getting tensed. How was I going to make a music video alone? Then I realised that I was not alone – my mind was there with me.

Without any hesitation, I walked up to my director’s chamber (HR Kiran Reddy, Secretary, RRIT College). He gave me the permission to organise an audition in the college campus. I started promoting “Pen voice” in the college. Watching my efforts, my friends started cooperating with me. I got a team to work with and we are going to start the shoot within a week.
