Is Fast Driving The Reason Behind Most Accidents?

Would you still be driving fast if you got to know that fast driving was one of the main causes behind accidents? We have various instances where fast driving has been the cause of an accident.

We might offer condolences to the bereaved family after the accident but we don’t follow the rules for safe driving. Life is not what has been depicted in “The Fast And The Furious” movies, where one remains unharmed after performing some deadly driving stunt. Some drivers imitate the same thing in real life and meet with horrible accidents.

Let’s talk about recent accidents that have occurred due to fast driving. What made me pen down this write-up was a recent accident in Bihar where more than 12 people were killed and many were injured.

This is not the only case. There were others, like the DPS school bus accident which was really heartbreaking and left many feeling shattered. The incident raised important questions and alarmed many school as well as the government. As a result, drivers have been told to drive within the speed limit.

Anyway, we are getting the news of these accidents but we are not being able to stop them. A driver is responsible for the lives of all the people inside the vehicle.

I have seen many in-city bus drivers who just don’t see the nearby vehicle and continue to go ahead nonchalantly. Some drivers twist and turn their vehicles even while driving at a high speed. Maybe they think they have the advantage of having a big vehicle but this is a really risky way to drive.

To eradicate these incidents, an amendment should be imposed on in-city drivers to behave in a certain way while overtaking a vehicle or passing by one. They shouldn’t be driving so rashly. Other than restricting their speed limits, one needs to educate them as to why people’s lives are more important than driving fast.

Drivers should think about their own as well as other people’s lives while driving so that we can avoid outrageous accidents in the future.
