Despite sliding trend in the vote share of the Uttar Pradesh by-elections, the Congress party makes a satisfactory stance as it should be. What it finds worth acceptable is the BJP’s defeat after the BSP-SP combination. Its vote share has come down to less than 20,000 in Gorakhpur and Phulpur, where it bagged 45719 and 56127 votes in 2014 respectively.
Caring a fig over the lowering voting percentage, it wants to realise the latest grand victory over the rival BJP. The party leaders’ analysis and reactions were desperately eulogising every inch of changed scenario in Uttar Pradesh. The attempt to come collectively goes on without disrupting the winning parties’ tempo.
