There is a seriously dangerous attempt being made by the fascist communal forces led by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to destroy the pluralistic, secular and democratic fabric of our incredible nation around, and even inside the peaceful campuses. In fact, the diverse and dissenting voices are now getting cowardly blocked, attacked and silenced. Democratic and peaceful protests are being suppressed using inappropriately indecent tactics. Students are being suspended, they are being asked to pay huge fines without citing any proper reasons. No one, especially the deprived and marginal sections are allowed to uphold their personal views, opinions and ideas in this so-called “New India”.
Many neoteric incidents expose the eager and political propaganda of a menacing divisive section and their coalition to demolish all our humanistic, liberal, democratic, secular and scientific outlook and ideologies. Huge funds using power and positions are being collected from the crony capitalist forces to enhance and strengthen their economic growth. The actual New India at present is best, but only for businessmen like Nirav Modi and Vijay Vittal Mallya.
Rapes, corruptions, unemployment, farmer suicides, problems faced by the ‘Medium and Small Scale Industries’ etc. are not considered by the present NDA govt.
Discontent is being expanded along the discriminatory, anti-women, anti-Dalit, anti-minority policies of the present government under Narendra Modi. The situation of hostility spread by the RSS-BJP led Sangh Parivar alliance makes the situation much worse in this new age of extreme global discontent. Equality, peace, harmony, love and freedom should be our primary goals, and it can be guaranteed by the strongly protected constitution and also through the committed voice of the citizens including students. We have already witnessed a lot of developing threats from institutions around the country. Even our premier institutes like Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Hyderabad Central University (HCU) are not free from these types of perils.
Our common enemy has reached the front door, and it’s our time to act wisely. They would misuse or misinterpret our customs and past; they will feed terror, riots and tensions, their political target and attempts are to polarise Indians on extreme communal and religious grounds. Our resources, venerated – ideas, values, democracy, judiciary etc. are getting affected too. In this period where our constitution, institutions, rights, morals, dynamic history, science, common sense etc. face severe challenges, it’s time for us to get awakened and truly informed about the actual facts. But, even the obnoxious pillar of Indian democracy; i.e. the paid media are hiding realities from the people. And those who are showing valour to write or report truths are forced to live in complete fear. They are getting lynched, shot to death, are being – harassed, defamed, threatened and tortured.
The same treacherous section (obviously the propounders of Hindutva politics ) is indeed not bothered about the serious and sensitive questions and doubts about the future raised by the Indian people, mainly by the most vibrant youths. They doesn’t show any character, concern or mind to respond to those substances and this itself proves the intensity of intolerance and threat our country is facing. We have to put forward an inclusive value-based vision originating from the legacies of great masters starting from Mahatma Gandhi to build an India which could fulfil the unending dreams, hopes and aspirations of our young men and women. So now it’s the responsibility and duty of each one of us, the proud Indians to protect our rights and dignity guaranteed with the strongly founded and well-written democratic constitution drafted by our beloved Babasaheb. We have to raise our clutched fist in solidarity with the voices of common, deprived and marginalised sections. Their voice should also be heard louder in this time of massive socio-economic and political distress.
