I am ashamed of living in a society that tries to normalise rape and murder

I am crying!

Yes, you read it right, I am crying from within.

I feel helpless, outrageous and guilty for everything whatever wrong is happening around me. Yes, I am crying, I am crying from within. I don’t know whether you feel the same when you see injustice happening to anybody and you can’t do anything. I don’t know whether you feel the pain inside you when every day you read the news of rape happening one or other places. I don’t know whether you have become indifferent to the victims of rape, murder, atrocities whenever you heard or read something like this. I don’t know what you feel when people were killed in the name of religion, caste, nationality and their identity. I don’t know whether the monster within us became bigger and suppressing all the good qualities from within. I don’t know whether we forgot the basic human nature, compassion, humbleness, respect for one another.

I am ashamed!

I am ashamed of living in a society, which tries to normalize rape and murder. I am ashamed of a society where people have to make suicide attempts to get justice. I am ashamed of my govt. which doesn’t do anything to provide justice and protection to the victims unless it becomes a national news. I am ashamed of myself that I haven’t done enough to make the govt. accountable and my society more sensitive to the issues which are now destroying us as a nation and human being.

These crimes and incidences are the mirrors of our society and we should face it and ask ourselves a question, are you not responsible for whatever happening in the society and have you ever done something to stop it?
