Let Rape, Just be “Rape”!

I wonder what’s with the media these days, I wonder if they are bribed or if they are more interested in their TRP’s than the lives of the people, but nowadays, the news ain’t reported but it made. The news agencies ain’t reporting news to us but is making news to be reported in their next broadcast and what recently is the new bait which is selling as a hotshot in the market is “rape”.

But I hold a question, why is rape just not simply rape?

“A Hindu girl raped by a Muslim man, in a village of Assam.”

“A Muslim girl gang-raped by eight men in a Hindu temple in Jammu.”

I really need to know, what relevance does the religion of the girl and the rapist has to do with the entire news reported to people. Why is it important to do so? Why can’t rape just be reported as a rape of a girl? Because here, what’s really vandalised is her entire being, not her caste, class or religion, then why mention it?

It is important to report details, I agree, but let’s not grow blind to the consequences of the news reported in the country. I know it’s pretty obvious how one little flame ignites a fire which is hard to sustain so then why even bring out a term which can act as an oil to the flames of fire already brewing between various diversities existing in India.

A country where people are more concerned of what their religion might say over what the law says, why even give them another reason to make a village, state or any corner of the world into a living hell on the hands of communalism.

Let rape, just remain rape of a girl, and not her religion or caste, because in the end, it doesn’t depend on it. Neither Lord Rama, nor Allah, nor any other God came in to protect that woman from the horrors, then why associate it with it?

It only gives a fair reason for more screwed up minds to justify another act of rape, in the return of the previous one. That’s how the chain is growing to be never ending like it isn’t about humans or their lives but just about the religion they are associated with.

Let’s just keep in mind, a girl is raped and not her religion. Let rape, just be “rape” and not a hotshot brewing cup of violence which grows once communalism and politics finds it’s way into the hands of such gruesome acts. GROW UP, AND GROW OUT!

The news is to report the reality in the right way, not the way it gains TRP’s and viewers.
