From Flights To Metros, Safety Still Remains A Major Concern For Transportation

Though much development has taken place in transportation, safety still remains a major issue despite all the advanced measures being applied in order to minimise the numbers of accidents.

They are not confined to road journeys or rail journeys or air journeys; they have spread to metro journeys as well.

The travellers are well aware of the risk of accidents.

But nowadays, even metro journeys are not necessarily out of harm’s way. The metro gets many passengers because it’s quick, convenient and covers a lot of distance in little time.

However, recently, seven people were injured in Ghaziabad’s Mohan Nagar after the Delhi Metro steel girder fell down on them.

The accident took place at an under-construction foot-over-bridge at the Mohan Nagar Metro station on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda corridor. This incident might create a sense of fear.

In the last few days, we read about an Air India flight AI-462, which was carrying as many as 240 passengers from Amritsar to New Delhi. It developed some problem midway as its glass panel fell off, injuring three passengers.

It took at least 15 minutes to refit the window glass. However, the passengers experienced a very traumatic time during the flight. It seems that comfort and care are no longer available for any mode of travel.
