The health care Business

I believe that this a recent trend. All around in our towns there are really impressive advertisements for hospitals, speaking of the state-of -the-art facilities they provide and the need to recieve the best possible medical services. But I don’t understand the motive behind these ads and it disturbs me.
Are we really doing it with the intention of making the best possible medical care available to people or are we making health care services into yet another commodity? Even if it’s the former case, then why is that they need to advertise if all of them provide the best services? Further, isn’t it our right to receive proper health care ? The saddest part of this change in medical sector is that the better the claim of excellence, higher the charges; leaving only the affluent with access to these services. The case with our public sector hospitals is that not everyone can handle the rush and the lack of personal care, owing to the large number of people coming in and subsequent pressure on the staff. Can’t our Governments make it a point that there is a transparency in this sector and that quality medical treatment is equally accessible for everyone so that we don’t have to look out for the ads to decide where to go when we fall sick? I really don’t appreciate seeing these ads, expecting us to fall sick so that we approach them specifically. Let them put up boards with instructions on how to remain healthy and what to do when some accidents occur, let them create awareness instead of marketing.
