Unnao, Dadri, Koregaon, Mandsaur: India’s Oppressed Need To Unite To Fight Injustice

Politicians who have the highest chance of winning an election get the ticket to contest. This is true for each and every political party in our country today. It’s a complete disaster to look up to a certain leader or political party for justice at this juncture. Barack Obama once said that if an oppressed community wants to fight injustice it must not just agitate but also must unite with all other marginalized sections of the society.

It’s time for an alliance between the women’s rights movement, the Dalit movement, farmers’ movement, minority rights movement and the labour movement. All these sections are equally oppressed under the present Modi regime. Farmers are shot dead for demanding just MSP (minimum support price), Dalits and Muslims are murdered for their eating habits, rape victims and their families oppressed. This is the perfect time to come together and bring in a just administration.

The poor in the country have no representation in the parliament or in state assemblies. When the rule of law can’t protect people’s rights, it’s existence doesn’t matter. The scenario in the nation is very much ripe for a people’s revolution. After Dadri, Mandsaur, Koregaon and Unnao incidents, it’s very clear that power has blinded ruling elites. Before they realise the danger of their impending doom, non-violent but fierce agitations must storm every nook and corner of the country.

The leadership of progressive society must take a lead in uniting every marginalised section into a greater umbrella for the fight against injustice. Politicians must be kept out at any cost, they have the capability of creating dissent in any movement. Bapu’s dream of Sarvodaya has been long forgotten and must be realised and enforced. Jai Hind!
