why daughters are still a curse in indian villages?

Today,no one is unknown to women power in the world. Women are successful in every aspect of life, not even a single field remains untouched today. Time to time again, women has proved her worth and potential  in the Indian society. Whether it is  sports, science, agriculture, social work etc.

Special rights have been enforced by the government of India for protection of women. But in many villages of Haryana, birth of a girl child is not considered to be a good news even today. Most parents in Haryana often bribe Gynecologists to do gender identification, according to Pre-Natal Diagnostic Act in year 1994, Gender Discrimination is prohibited in every state of the nation. But unfortunatly, because of  lack of  literacy in these states, most of the people still prefer to have male child as compared to a girl child. This is a major reason that female ratio is much less as compared to males. It is a stereotype that most people do not want girls as their child. The reason behind this thinking is most of the parents in Indian villages consider their daughters as a “burden” because of her education expenses, marriage, social evil dowry. But recently, statistics  have shown that females have made a huge progress than males, whether it is education, sports, science technology etc.Girls score much higher percentages as compared to males in class 10 and 12 board exams. Manushri Chillar  was crowned miss world from India in 2017 being from Haryana. In 2016 summer Olympics, P.V. Sindhu and Sakshi Malik got medals for India. I am not saying that males are not important for the society, females are equally important. Our Constitution also have fundamental right “Right to equality” which states that all the citizens of India are equal. Society can not function without women. If woman can give birth to males that ,eans she can achieve  anything
