15-year-old Navin fightinagainst cancer wants to become a doctor to save lives of patients like him

Navin has even written a letter to PM Modi asking for help

Navin Naik, a 15-year-old from Mumbai is fighting blood cancer for the last 2 years. After successful chemotherapy sessions, in March 2018, Navin was adamant to finish his SSC exams before going to the hospital since doctors had asked him to get admitted. Few days prior to the exams Navin started bleeding through his nose and mouth and had to skip his last two papers of SSC board exam in March. While he is still preparing for re-exam at the hospital, Navin is confident about passing with good marks.

Navin’s mother Radha is very proud of her son’s strength and will to fight against cancer. She has been by his side for each chemotherapy session, left her job to take care of her son and has been taking his revision tests as he studies for the SSC re-exam, scheduled in July.

Navin has been switching hospitals for the past two years, looking for a doctor that could increase his chances to live. The first few doctors said he only had a 25% survival chance. But the doctors at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital are confident that they can save Navin with a Bone Marrow Transplant with just a 50% donor match.

Navin’s father happily agreed on becoming the donor for his son and has been admitted too, while Navin’s mother feels like she is a lone warrior. After selling out their apartment and all the jewellery, Navin’s mother has spent about INR 15 lakhs in his treatment. Despite all the troubles and no support from any of the relatives, she is a strong woman and has not given up hope.

To save Navin’s life and continue his treatment they require Rs. 30 lakhs urgently for his transplant for which they have started a crowdfunding campaign on ImpactGuru.com. So far the campaign has raised more than 12 Lakhs in just 20 days. Lets make a small contribution towards saving the life of this young boy, who harbours big dreams.
