The One Thing That Keeps The Memories Of A Wedding Alive

Indian weddings have always been a grand event, but with time its grandeur has increased. Everything from the food, to lighting, to décor has evolved with time. With choreographed dance sequence and majestic locations, it’s more like a wedding scene from a Karan Johar movie.

When it comes to planning the big day, there is a huge list to work on. From choosing the right flowers, the décor, booking the best caterers, finding the perfect stationery designs, the list goes on. But the flowers will wilt, the food will be eaten, the stationery would be long forgotten; the memories will still last forever. Photographers help create that pitara of memories.

Looking at old wedding albums with our elders always take us back to their days. The memories of those days remain fresh in their mind; when chachaji had all his hair, chutki was dancing around in her yellow dress, massi hadn’t lost her glow. The excitement on their faces while showing these photographs to the younger generation cannot be left unnoticed. Photography is an important element of every wedding, it’s more than just one day, it’s about a lifetime.

Of what just started as the “traditional photography”, where pictures were meant to capture the events and the moment shared with loved ones, it too has evolved to reflect the magnificence of the wedding and capture natural and raw moments. Photographs make a wedding look extravagant even at the simplest of settings.

Weddings are not just about a few photographs. They’re all about the stories that they depict. From getting ready, to the emotions on the parents’ face as they see the bride in her wedding attire. From capturing the groom’s nervousness to the mischief of the relatives. They capture the details of the beautiful day as it unfolds.

In Indian culture, where weddings are considered as the main event of the bride’s and groom’s life. With so many events and rituals happening all at once. Extracting aesthetic moments is an art.

Ten years down the line, these emotions are something a person would look back to. Not the people who attended the wedding, or the wall of lilies in the background, but these moments.
