The Mining department fetched an investment of Rs.12,227 cr with 31 MoUs, IT and Electronics department fetched an investment of Rs.30,050 cr with 75 MoUs, Economic Development Board signed 144 MoUs attracting an investment of Rs.1,51,400 cr, 165 MoUs were signed in food processing with an investment of Rs.3,100 cr, 38 MoUs were signed by NEDCAP with an investment of Rs.78,935 cr, the CRDA signed 37 MoUs with an investment of Rs.4964 cr and Industry and Infrastructure sector attracted investments to a tune of Rs.5,968 cr with 4 MoUs. The Tourism sector signed 49 MoUs with an investment of Rs.5002 cr, APFDC signed 19 MoUs, AP TIDCO signed 18 MoUs with an investment of Rs.40,013 cr and the health sector fetched an investment of Rs.5090 crores under 25 MoUs. The Iconic Millennium Tower With 85 Crore Investments: The present construction expenditure is Rs.85 crores (Ref: Hindu). APIIC has assigned responsibility the job of construction to KPC Projects. APEITA (AP Electronics and IT Agency), the State government formed the autonomous society to draw the attention of investments in IT and electronics, to allow all facilities to startups, MSME partners and others majorly working in new age technologies and fintech ( financial technology). Visakhapatnam Port With 51 Million Tons Of Cargo: The Visakhapatnam port has handled 51 million tones cargo (Ref: BusinessLine) during the current financial year till the end of December, which are 1.5 million tons more related to the corresponding period last year. Vehicles Automated Inspection Center With 15 Crores: AICC (Automated inspection and certification center) for transport vehicles will be come in the city soon. The center will be the first-of-its-kind in the state and is 100% operational in China, Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong. The state government coming to set-up the center by providing the technical support from ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). And the Union government will bear the cost of each center to the tune of Rs.15 crore (Ref: TOI). The ARAI has extended technical support to transport departments at Pune, Cochin, Nasik and Surat. The government is searching for an appropriate particular private player like Mahindra, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki to set up the center on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis. Confirming this to RTA, TOI S Venkateswara Rao Visakhapatnam’s regional deputy transport officer expressed the state government is planning to set up the automated center in Vizag other than that from three other places. There is sufficient land for the project at Rajapulova, which commonplace for Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. One unit cost around 15 crores. Vizag Metro Rail Projects Coming With Lots Of Bids Five Indian firms have submitted bids for the Request for Qualification (RFQ), the first stage of bidding process invited by the Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (AMRC) for the 43km-long Vizag Metro Rail (VMR) project. The five firms are Gurgaon-based Adani Enterprises Limited, Mumbai-based TRIL Urban Transport Private Limited, Mumbai-based Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Private Limited, Noida-based ESSEL Infraprojects Limited, and Mumbai-based IL&FS Rail Limited. The AMRC, under the aegis of the state government, will scrutinize the bids and shortlist the eligible firms for further notification of Request for Proposal (RFP), which will be the final invitation to eligible private players for the Rs 8,800 crore project (Ref: TOI). Speaking to TOI, AMRC managing director N P Ramakrishna Reddy said all the five firms submitted bids with a volume of documents, ranging between 1,500 to 2,000 pages, explaining their experience in taking up big public-private-partnership (PPP) mode projects like airports, metro rail projects, elevated corridors etc. Vizag Metro Authority Zonal Development: The VUDA is getting ready to prepare the master plan for the VMRDA including zonal developments which would consist of nearly 6,764.59 sq km area for 25 years (Ref: IndExpress), with 2036 as the horizon year. It will cover two more districts. VMRDA preliminary master plan was prepared earlier, the VUDA higher along LEE association, is making the final revised draft master plan in conformity with provision of the AP APMRUDA (Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authority) act, 2016, with the total area of 6,764.59 sqkm.
