Is The Upcoming Coalition Government An Injustice To The People Of Karnataka?

So, finally today the so-called “natak” of the Karnataka state elections of 2018, came to an end.

The 19th Chief Minister of Bhartiya Janta Party, B.S. Yeddyurappa resigned from his post with an emotional speech just before the floor test. The party was not able to prove the majority. Congress – JD(S) alliance with the leadership of H.D. Kumaraswamy with its 116 MLAs met the governor Vajubhai Vala claiming to form the government and was invited by the governor on Monday for the swearing-in ceremony which has now been postponed to Wednesday.

After the results on May 15, these four days witnessed some vicious historical, political moves, activities and statements. The INC claims to form a government on the basis of a coalition with JD (S), thereby pulling BJP back. While the mandate of the people of Karnataka states something else as, the JD (S) has got 37 seats. They had won 40 seats in 2013 elections in which some of the seats had led to “Jamanat Jabt.”(Security deposits have been taken).

The people of Karnataka stopped the state ruling party Congress at just 78 from 122 in 2013 state elections. Whereas the election machine BJP pulled their number up from 40 to 104 seats. This shows the views and mandates of the Kannadigas.

The parties which got demoted will be now ruling the state. Is this justice to the people of Karnataka who had evaluated the parties individually on the basis of their choices, mindsets and consensus? As the coalition was formed on May 15 just after when the Congress was lagging behind with the required number, the senior leaders of the party approached former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and his son H.D. Kumaraswamy of JDS.

The Karnataka elections have exactly proved that the politicians have no morals when it comes to winning. They’ll do whatever it takes to come to power.
