200 Years Of Karl Marx

200 years ago, on May 5, 1818, Karl Marx was born in the city of Trier. He was the chief of the world’s proletariat, the greatest thinker, the revolutionary, the founder of the scientific communism, proletarian political and philosophy.

When economic crisis hit the US in 2011-12 and spread the world over, not only did workers come on the road to demand counter-measures to save banks and question capitalists on the cost of living conditions of the working class, they also revisited “Das Kapital” by Marx to find out the cause of such periodical recessions and their solution. The discovery of the source of wealth creation was made by this genius who named it surplus value, which is accrued by capitalists who have paid nothing for its creation. And this surplus value is the mother of all exploitation, and base of the superstructure which includes politics, education, religion, spiritualism, etc.

Karl Marx occupies a remarkable place in the history of mankind. The identity of Karl Marx has merged with the traits of a genius thinker, a revolutionary coup in social sciences, and a revolutionary activist who has made the work of the working class movement an evolutionary force of public progress. With powerful intelligence, accumulated knowledge of mankind, especially in the field of philosophy, logic, politics, and socialism, Karl Marx, together with Frederick Engels, discovered the revolutionary theory of struggle to build a totalitarian communist society. By revealing the objective laws on which this development is committed, Karl Marx has committed a revolutionary coup on the history of people’s thought, opening an era of scientific socialism.

Today, Karl Marx continues to draw the minds and hearts of those who seek a way out of the world of injustice and bourgeois exploitation. And “Das Kapital” is one of the world’s most read books, especially among the youth.

“Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriation.”  – Karl Marx
